Sir Paul Smith

イギリスを代表するファッションデザイナーとして、伝統とモダンを融合した独創的なスタイルで知られる。自転車競技の夢を事故で断念後、アートに目覚め、1970年に24歳で初のショップをオープン。伝統的なテーラリングに現代的なひねりを加えたデザインで世界的に成功を収める。2000年にナイト爵位、2016年にレジオン・ドヌール勲章、2022年にコンパニオン・オブ・オナー勲章、2023年にイタリア共和国功労勲章騎士位を受章。 Sir Paul Smith, a leading British fashion designer, is celebrated for his unique style that seamlessly combines tradition with modernity. After a cycling accident put an end to his dreams of becoming a professional cyclist, he discovered a passion for art and went on to open his first shop in 1970 at the age of 24. His designs, known for adding a contemporary twist to traditional tailoring, have earned him international acclaim. In recognition of his remarkable contributions to fashion, he was appointed a Knight Bachelor in 2000, awarded the Légion d'Honneur in 2016, the Order of the Companions of Honour in 2022, and the Knighthood of the Order of the Star of Italy in 2023. Paul Smith has thrived in Japan since 1984, becoming a symbol of British creativity and design.

Rakuten Fashion Week TOKYO is a fashion festival held twice a year. Out of the world’s fashion weeks, those held in Paris, Milan, London, New York, and Tokyo are regarded as the most prominent and are referred to as the "Big Five." The trends for next season are born from the latest collections unveiled at fashion shows and exhibitions. This season will see Japan's latest creations showcased to the world at Spiral Hall and TODA HALL & CONFERENCE TOKYO, as well as other locations in Tokyo.
